⁣⁢A large fireball exploded over the Nigerian state of Oyo on the afternoon of April 19, 2018. A meteoroid entered Earth's atmosphere. The extraterrestrial rocks carved deep fissures and craters into the dry African soil. They were named after the village of Aba Panu, located near the center of the strewn field. Every day, Earth is bombarded with over 100 tons of dust and sand particles from space. About once a year, a car-sized asteroid hits, creating a spectacular fireball as friction from Earth's atmosphere causes them to disintegrate.⁤⁣
