OBVERSE

In the crown, the twelve stars of the European Community. In the center of the coin, the engraving depicts the reigning monarch of Monaco, Prince Albert II, who has been on the throne since 2005. The head is in right profile. Above, the inscription "MONACO", below the year is framed by the mark of the Paris Mint, the minting institute for Monegasque coins, and the mark of the Chief Engraver of the Mint.
