OBVERSE

To the left of the portrait are inscribed the birth and death years "1815-1856" and, below them, along the outer ring, the name "ĽUDOVÍT ŠTÚR." In the upper right part of the design is the mint mark of the Kremnica Mint (Mincovňa Kremnica), consisting of the letters "MK" between two punches. In the lower right part of the design are the stylized letters "IŘ," initials of the artist Ivan Řehák. The outer ring of the coin depicts the twelve stars of the European flag.
