OBVERSE

⁣⁢The design symbolizes Slovakia's entry into the European Union and the euro area through a stylized gateway spanning a map of Slovakia and a euro symbol surrounded by the stars of the European Union, some of which are covered by the map. The coat of arms of Slovakia appears on the left side of the design. At the bottom left, the issuing country's name, "SLOVENSKÁ REPUBLIKA," is inscribed in a semicircle. The country's founding date, "1.1.1993," and the coin's issue year, "2018," appear one above the other below the right side of the map. Between the map and the date are the mint mark of the Kremnica Mint (Mincovňa Kremnica), namely the initials "MK" between two punches, and the stylized letters "PK," initials of Pavel Károly, the designer.⁤⁣
