In 2026, Slovenia will issue a 3 euro commemorative coin dedicated to Sreko Kosovel, a Slovenian poet born in 1904 in Sežana and who passed away in 1926 at the age of twenty-two. His work, influenced by Expressionist and Constructivist movements, holds a central place in Slovenian and Central European literary history, even though most of his writings only came to public attention after his death.

The inner part of the coin represents an atmosphere and an exploration of language through forms and experimentation rather than a simple depiction of a portrait accompanied by a year. This is precisely what is important to Kosovel. The design is inspired by Kosovel's "collage" technique, which involves working with text fragments and press clippings. This creates the effect of a small graphic scene: words and shapes intertwine, resulting in a modern message, almost like a poster.
