OBVERSE
The obverse depicts a perspective view from below showing a detail of the facade of the Basilica of Santa Croce, an emblem of Baroque art in Lecce, as well as its rose window. At the top, under an arch, is the inscription "REPUBBLICA ITALIANA". At the bottom, "2026", the year the coin was issued.
REVERSE
In the foreground, at the bottom, is the Roman amphitheater of Lecce, complemented by an ellipse containing the coin's value "5 euro" at the top. To the right is the Column of Sant'Oronzo with part of a sundial, the function of which is ensured by the statue of the saint at the top of the column. In an arc at the top left is "LECCE". At the bottom, "R", identifying the Rome Mint, and the designer's signature, "M. Ciucci".
