⁣⁢On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, the Monnaie de Paris is minting a collection paying tribute to soldiers from various Allied nations.
Through 4 unique stories, French commandos, British paratroopers, and American and Canadian infantrymen are honored in this historic collection.⁤⁣

REVERSE

The reverse of these coins depicts a spiral of all Allied nations that participated in the landings, whether by land, sea, or air. The stars under the flags are also a tribute to the "Liberty Road," kilometer markers indicating the route taken by the US 3rd Army for the liberation of France up to Luxembourg.
