Can you explain your business in more detail? What does pieces-et-monnaies.com offer?
pieces-et-monnaies.com is an online sales brand for numismatic products (collectible coins), both national and international. The website works in partnership with Mints (coin manufacturers) to offer many quality coins. Currently, pieces-et-monnaies.com has the privilege of being one of the eight authorized French resellers of the Paris Mint. The website offers several types of products: limited mintage collectible coins in precious metals, face-value coins for investors, collectible banknotes, gold bars/bars, accessories for collectors, themed products, some under license, products from all countries worldwide, but mainly focused on the Eurozone, as well as medals and mini-medals for the general public.
What is the story behind the company's creation? What was your starting point?
The founder and president of the company, Dimitri ANASTASSOV, founded the company in 2015, thus continuing a family passion. In 2020, the website was launched under the brand Pièces-et-Monnaies.com. As a pure player in the sale of collectible coins, the company has grown with a team of about ten people. The COVID-19 crisis and the war in Ukraine created a need to invest money in physical assets, giving new appeal to the numismatic market. In three years, the company's revenue has grown from 350,000 euros to 3 million.
What are collectible coins? What is your vision of the profession?
These are coins not intended for circulation but minted in limited editions, often in precious metals. Some may be colored or shaped, meaning they are not circular as we usually see them. They sometimes feature specific licensed themes. Our vision is to democratize this field of collecting as much as possible, especially among younger people.
What is the basis of your expertise?
We are constantly looking to expand our catalog, which includes thousands of items, by trying to offer customers the best prices, especially for new releases. To achieve this, we negotiate with the Mints for the largest possible quantities of coins, which is not easy given the limited mintages. We also offer coins that are sometimes unique or no longer available on the market due to their popularity with collectors. We also have the ability to appraise coins to provide our clients with maximum information on market conditions.
Who are your clients? How do you support them?
Our diverse product categories allow us to have a fairly varied clientele. Some buy for investment purposes, others for a specific theme, or to complete all the coins from a particular collection. Our goal is to offer products that can meet the
demands of the maximum number of our clients. One of our priorities has been the implementation of an efficient customer service. Originally responsible for 90% of interactions with our clients, our aim has been to build trust by offering multiple communication options.
