OBVERSE

The coin depicts radio waves arranged in five lines, symbolizing the start of "Radio Zagreb" broadcasts on the 350-meter medium wave frequency, on May 15, 1926, at 8:30 PM. This moment also marks the birth of Croatian Radio Television, the legal successor to "Radio Zagreb." The coin also features the following inscriptions: the year of issue "2026," the text "100 GODINA HRVATSKE RADIOTELEVIZIJE" (100 years of Croatian Radio Television), and the symbol of the Republic of Croatia "HR." These are all inscribed within the lines representing the radio waves, to which they are typographically attached. The combination of the depicted radio waves and the surface of the coin's core also symbolizes Croatia's distinctive emblem, the Croatian checkerboard, one of the elements of the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia. The design on the national side of the commemorative coin also includes the author's stylized initials: "KG."
