• New currency, delivered in its original setting and with its certificate of authenticity.

For over 40 years, UNESCO (United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization) has been listing a list of sites like "World Heritage". Since 2007, the currency of Paris has honored various monuments classified on this list in a series of collection currencies. From 2019, the theme extends again worldwide.

In 2021, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the disappearance of the Portuguese explorer and navigator, La Monnaie de Paris paid tribute to one of the first explorers who undertook and succeeded in a world tour, Fernand de Magellan (1480-1521 ).

On the face of this currency is engraved the portrait of Fernand de Magellan, navigator and Portuguese explorer.

The Victoria sailing on the seas and oceans is presented on the room. This is the first ship to have completed the world tour during its expedition to join the Moluccas islands. We refer to it thanks to the mapping in the background which also represents the road taken by Magellan and its crew. Parallels and meridians are also represented.

The "500 years" recalls the date of his death.

The facial value is registered in the center at the bottom of the room.

The reverse of the currency represents the convent of Christ of the city of Tomar in Portugal. It represents more precisely the window of the central nave adorned with very many manual -style patterns, in particular "strings" which recall those used on boats during the era of great discoveries.

The 2021 vintage as well as the different from Joaquin Jimenez are present at the bottom of the reverse.
