For over 40 years, UNESCO (United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization) has been listing a list of sites like "World Heritage". Since 2007, the currency of Paris has honored various monuments classified on this list in a series of collection currencies. From 2019, the theme extends again worldwide.
The face presents the Tower of Belém seen from the banks of the Tagus, on the monastery side of the hieronymitis. The most important components of the tower, such as turrets or crosses of warheads, are highlighted. At the top right is written "500 years Tour de Belém" because the year 2019 marks the anniversary of the end of construction of the tower.
The RF, the 2019 vintage as well as the clovers of the engraving are visible on the face. At the bottom of the drawing, the face and the reverse of a contemporary currency of the tower, o Português, come to fit into the representation of one of the balustrades of the building.
The reverse stands out from previous years because it is no longer just a question of UNESCO World Heritage on the banks of Seine but all the classified world heritage.
The reverse of this collection therefore presents the portrait of Vasco de Gama, symbol of the great Portuguese discoveries. Are added on this setback, many elements that echo navigation such as the Gama Vasco caravel, the sea or the navigation compass.
At the top right is written "550 years Vasco de Gama" interspersed with spice friezes like an armillar sphere. The year 2019 marks the birthday of the birth of the famous Portuguese browser. Lower left is the facial value.
